This has only been my second season but I guess I'm going to vote good since we've brought in 30 lb. But I've been hunting everyday for at least an hour or two from April 22 - May 25, with the exception of two days. So maybe that's actually not so good for that many hours spent in the woods?

I would say bad, but below average would be more accurate. March was way too dry, then it got too warm when the rain finally came. Season locally was 18 days long, and my time off work missed alot of it because they were so early.

And I don't understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that theres no rain

I know that under other circumstances my season would probably be considered a disaster to more experienced hunters. I found a total of three morels this season, but couldn't have been more happy. This is my first year and I had been out 8 to 9 times hunting. I hadn't seen anything and was asking all my friends where to go. I had been looking in Tuscola and Saginaw Counties where I have access to some property. I finally found paydirt late one night while moving some of my father in law's furniture. I didn't even find the morel, my wife did. I was showing her some asparagus with a flashlight when she said "look at that wasp nest on the ground" She then picked up her foot and was going to squash it when I exclaimed "No, it's a morel" I couldn't believe it. I'd been hunting all that time and my wife was going to squash a morel, the first ever I had seen in the woods. I was positively giddy with excitement. I got my scissors out of my truck and with trembling hands (no lie) cut it off at ground level. We took our little prize home and fried it up that night. The next day I went back and found two more within five feet of the first one. I know this may sound a little corny but I thought I had hit the motherlode. I went out a few more times after that and didn't find any but I can't help but feel, for me anyway, that my season was a great success. Being 55 and having hunted and harvested many whitetail I can tell you that first morel I found (I mean my wife found) was truly exciting and great fun. I am hooked and will be out in the woods again next year. Wilbur55.

Now that it is completely and thouroughly over with I'll say "compared to last year this was my worst morel season ever". Not counting the years I looked for morels and never found em cuz I didn't know what I was doing. :)

This year looked so promising and thenit just got completely wiped out by ma nature.

Ain't complaining though, that's just the way it goes with nature. It's been a great season for other things and that makes up for it.
