Discussions on Morel Mushrooms. Please do not post your finds in this forum.

Do not give specific areas where mushrooms have been found. Refrain from naming street names, Business names, government buildings, shopping centers, pasturelands, when specific directions are given to a location, or any place with an address. Naming a County and or State is fine and will provide enough info for any hunter to get an idea if mushrooms are being found in their area.<br />Click here for more info: Respecting other Hunters

I was going to make this a reply to the "preserving Morels" topic but Im locked out until I make 10 posts. Kind of hard to get 10 posts if you cant reply-----Anyway, I always dump the water I used to soak my Morels in a paticular place. I have Morels grow in that spot every year, I suppose its from the spores in the water?

Thanks for the tip.
Can you do this to mushrooms that have already soaked and been cleaned?

I have no idea what you're complaining about there are 18 forums here to post in. I don;t understand why you would have a hard time making 10 meaningful posts. There is plenty here to talk about. Well over 200 new posts per day.

Anyway FYI, that topic is locked to everyone because the topic has run its course and all information that can possibly be covered has been posted in that topic more than once. It has run for two years and everyone posting it this years was just repeating info that was already covered.

Yeah, this method has definitely worked for my mom's friend too. I guess the spores get suspended in the water, which is great because they won't blow away when you dump the water under a host tree.

When you dry mushrooms do you use a dehydrator or just let them air dry?

You can do it either way. The dehydrator will get the work done more quickly.
