Discussions on Morel Mushrooms. Please do not post your finds in this forum.

Do not give specific areas where mushrooms have been found. Refrain from naming street names, Business names, government buildings, shopping centers, pasturelands, when specific directions are given to a location, or any place with an address. Naming a County and or State is fine and will provide enough info for any hunter to get an idea if mushrooms are being found in their area.<br />Click here for more info: Respecting other Hunters

the temps here are dipping for a couple of days, we'll have freezes every night, and daytime highs will be the low forties . . .
Does anyone know from past experience how a freeze affects the 'shroom? both the ones up, and those still underground as primordia.

Thanks

(lookin' this afternoon, wish me luck!)

I have always been under the same understanding, I would have to say that sounds correct. Without a doubt it's harmful to our cause. I'm dying to find a worthy amount. But it seems as though the good part of the season will be around it's normal time, contrary to my original thoughts of an early season. It seem like just as conditions here in N.E. Ohio get right to start them popping, the temps fall again. I just hope it doesn't kill the season or harm it.
