Discussions on Morel Mushrooms. Please do not post your finds in this forum.

Do not give specific areas where mushrooms have been found. Refrain from naming street names, Business names, government buildings, shopping centers, pasturelands, when specific directions are given to a location, or any place with an address. My wife and I are planning our first trip morel hunting. i just got her interested in morels- she would never eat any mushrooms until this year. We are from Downriver area. Can anyone suggest where to go and possibly a good place to stay? Also unsure of what weekend to plan.Was considering Baldwin area the last weekend in April for my birthday.

The Baldwin area has lots of state ground to wander and I've found shrooms there. As far as somewhere to stay, I do not know, always camped when in that area.

Thats when I plan on heading that way too. I too have found a few there, just have to hit it right. Some years have been just ok, others not so good.
