Got the danner gtx. Looking at the keens. Gonna buy a couple pair of something. These new ones aren't too bad. Breaking them in walking around the office! Lol [ Post made via iPhone ]

the keens are the most comfortable shoes/boots i have ever owned.
I have a pair of merrils with vibram thats are a close second.
I still own a pair of rockies with thinsulate that i have had for 10 plus years and wore on jobsites as well as in the woods.

Walking on fire in bare feet....completely doable.

I've been using Vasque boots for hiking for quite some time. I even bought another backup at Gander Mountain. I use them for just about everything. I've found that for hiking it's not just the boot but your sock as well. A good pair of Smart Wool socks would be a pretty good investment at the same time you buy your boots.

Gene.... Just returned my Danner GTX's... Ordered the exact same boot as you. Danner Hawk. Nubuck leather, same everything as your's!! Don't leave your's on the porch or I might have a second pair!! Lol [ Post made via iPhone ]
