Soo.... What on earth do you do with all these mushrooms you find?

I mean I've heard of mushroom hunts and everything.. just don't know why.

eat them. and for me mushroom hunting is the ultimate....better than fishing and hunting combined....what other sport requires no licence...no special equipment other than a bag or bucket a knife and some field guides. outside of morel season theres no competition....and you get to spend hours in the middle of the woods. the big big bonus is you get to eat them. and some of them dont even taste "mushroomy" the hericium im holding in that picture tastes like crabmeat. seriously

plus its like an easter egg hunt....everyday of the year. Oh yeah, you dont think i can find an edible mushroom in the winter on the michigan/indiana line??? watch me...found 8lbs of plurotus eryngii the last year 6 days before xmas.

theres nothing like hanging out in the woods. the mushrooms are a bonus!
once you start finding them & know what to look for you'll have a blast. good luck on your mushroom adventures!

btw. you can freeze, dry & can alot of mushrooms. if ya find enough you'll never have to buy them in the store

outside enjoying life
