You are so right. This summer is moving along. My date for breaking out my bow and start practicing is apporaching. For the past 10 years I have always started practicing my shooting beginning August 1st all the through September.

This also brings me to another reminder.

Deadline for Doe permits is August 1st. Time is almost up. Don't do what I did a few years back and keep putting it off then forget about it.

Thanks for the reminder Mike, went and applied today for the public land doe permit. It does'nt really matter because I can still get land owners permits. It would be nice to get a public land permit for a change. It's getting time to start getting ready,no need to wait until the lat minute.

Bow season never comes to soon. I belong to a club that we shoot ever month unless its hunting season . we shoot ever thing that is legal for michigan deer hunting so i tend to shoot more often just to keep the harrasment to a lower level  but this year I will get to start my hunting season a little earler we will be heading up to Canada for a Bow moose hunt in September . It seems we have been waiting for years but we have started the 6 week count down. :cool1:

Ron,a trip to Canada to bow hunt moose, man thats more adventure than I think I could stand. That time of year should be close to thier rut, should'nt it?Is that a combo hunt where you can go after another animal if you score early on the moose?I also want to wish you good luck on your trip and hope you don't have to pack that meat out too far....

skull
i have been up to the place we are going before after bear it is a archery only camp and i have been trying to go after a moose there for a long time but he only gets 3 tags a year and they have always been taken by the the same guys i was lucky enough to beable to get in there finaly. They tell me that mid sept the rut is on preaty heavy but it is prob like the rut here weather can mess things up. as far as a combo hunt you could prob get a bear tag if you wanted but we are settleing for moose and fishing. my plan is to shoot one right next to the truck
but we will have to see im taking my dad and a big strong friend just incase

Less than 30 days till the archery deer opener.
Its time to go up and set up tree stands.
Gas prices are ridicules but I only have the Labor Day weekend to get this done.
Have a wedding party dinner to go to next weekend than a wedding the following.
I get set up this weekend or have to wait till opening day. Ya right! That just won't get it.

WOW!!!
From 30 to 8.
Will you be hunting around home or heading up somewhere?
In fact will you be hunting opening day?
It only stands to reason my boss wanted me in Europe next week for three weeks.
I told him to leave my pink slip on my desk.
Europe is now coming here. I have a training class to give to some new people.
So I already let them know I will not be doing PR work. My boss will have to take them to lunch and dinner. After work I will be finalizing everything for next Saturday.
I am leaving at 3pm Friday and my place of employment and whoever else needs my assistance from now till January 2nd will have to really tread on thin ice to get me to deviate from my annual 3 month hunting spree.
After that they will have Feb. and March but come April I have to get set up for Fishing Season and Turkey. Gosh I just realized I am only dedicated for 2 months out of the year if my wife says that’s O.K. Oh ya those honey do’s. Sorry boss.

You all have a safe and fun season hear.......
