Hello all,

We at Northern Country Morels would like to thank all members for their contributions to this site, but it has come to the attention of the Administration/Moderation team that many new members are now posting various-meaningless posts just to gain their ten posts. Many of these posts disrupt the flow of the threads and some are even off topic. We would like to ask new members to please refrain from posting just smilies or short threads without a specific point. These threads will be deleted, by discretion of the moderating team, and the member will lose that post towards their count.

This means that if a member has only posted ten times and we remove one of them, they will lose their privilege to access the restricted areas of the forum. If a member with ten post has posted more than one that is deemed to have no content or is off topic, then they will lose the number of posts that were deleted and will have to post posts with valid content however many times to regain access to the restricted forums.

If the member continues these actions we will issue a warning which if continued will lead to a temporary ban. We try our best to avoid any bans so please try to stay within the rules on these types of posts.

If this continues to be a problem we will have to resort to posting restrictions for all new members which would take from the time of the team. We may even have to further restrict access to the maps which seem to draw more of the members who only post ten times and leave.

As of the 16th of April, 2009, we will start removing posts that we deem inappropriate or without meaning when it pertains to a thread. It has come to this because many new members are posting their ten posts, that are considered without meaning, just to gain access to the maps and other forums and are not contributing to the overall content of the forums. The information contained on all of the pages at NCM are free of charge and we would like to keep it that way, all we ask from you as a member in return is to add meaningful content pertaining to the threads.

We encourage everyone to be a family on here and enjoy themselves. Post as many times as you want and ask as many questions as you need to know. If you need help, there are many members on here that will help you out without even asking for anything in return. Just remember that there is no thing as a stupid question. Many of us are here to gain knowledge and friends so keep posting and enjoy your time at Northerncountrymorels.com.

Starting immediately any member abusing the 10 post rule by posting meaninglessly will receive an immediate BAN! NO EXCEPTIONS!!! This means that you will not even be able to view the board as a guest. People are still abusing this and I have had enough! I can't even find time to reply to posts and keep the map updated because I am constantly cleaning up the board.

I have worked too long and hard on this website to provide such useful and free information in my spare time to let anyone abuse this board and/or website. We are trying very hard to keep this a free website so please All we ask is that you participate by posting some meaningful posts.

This is really becoming a problem. This is the worst year yet for spam and meaningless posts. The forums are becoming very cluttered and I have been receiving complaints from some of our regular members who have been here for years about the board getting junked up with garbage one and two worded posts. It is becoming difficult for the members that come here looking for good information.

Starting immediately, new members are going to be monitored very carefully and if a moderator suspects that a new member is only trying to abuse the system to catch a glimpse of the Map and the Morel Sightings area will receive an immediate ban!! No warnings, no PM reminders...Nothing...Just a permanent ban.

Any banned member that emails me and wants to argue about why they are banned or tries and explain away their actions will be ignored. I will not answer those types of emails.

As far as I am concerned, the board rules and this post is very clear and serves as your warning.

I know this sounds harsh and I may seem like a jerk but this is a place to have serious discussions and to learn. If serious discussions is not what you want or if you feel that the TEN post rule is too strict or that you think this post is BS then this is not the place for you.
