Hello everyone, my name is Jessica. I live in West Virginia but grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania. My grandmother taught me to hunt morels when I was very young. They used to grow in my backyard in PA! Now I am trying to find my own honey-holes here in WV, and I have had some terrible luck! The places I found morels back home were all places my grandma showed me. I feel like I am starting all over again in WV. I wish I had my grandma to help me find new spots! I decided to join this forum to gain some insight, and maybe even find people to go hunting with. I'm not a complete stranger to forums like this, but I don't have much experience. Please excuse my noob-ness! Thanks!

Hi Jessica, the people here are very friendly and knowledgeable. I am a newbie too looking to find my first Morel this weekend in Northern MI. Studying my trees and melting butter in the pan! You are not starting over, you are just expanding your hunting area! Good Luck!

Welcome to NCM Jessica!  If you are just starting to learn about or are an experienced morel hunter, first start out by learning the host trees. Next learn the difference between a true morel and a false morel. Also read through some of the various information on the homepage. The search feature will also be one of your best sources for exact information you are looking for. If you have any more questions or just want to chat, strike up a conversation or jump into one that is already going. Also, don't forget to read the RULES and the FAQ's.

Welcome Jessica! I am originally from WV, and have a little experience hunting shrooms there. BEAUTIFUL STATE!!!! or should i say wild n wonderful! :) I hope you have a good time here at NCM!
