I am going to the Manistee National Forest this weekend and would like to carry a mesh bag to hold my mushrooms in should I be lucky enough to find them. It's probably too late to get one on EBAY for this weekend is there some place to get something like that up there at a store?

They are very easy to find, and cheap.
Go to just about any dollar store and pick up a mesh laundry bag. They are $2.

Go to Dollar Tree if you have one in your area and buy a 3 pack of cinch top lingerie bags. Love 'em, all I have used this year and they don't beat the heck out of the morels like an onion sack.

If you wash them them twice with dark clothes......they will get softer and darker up a little. No one likes bright white in the woods.

Just curious, as I said I am new to this. How does an onion bag "beat" up mushrooms? I found a few the other day and they seemed to be fine to the untrained eye. Are the other bags a tighter weave, what makes the difference. Thanks

Cloth bags are softer and don't grind the morels as much.

I'd like to find a collapsible mesh basket of sorts. If I get a bunch my mesh bag squishes them up, especially if I'm out for a while and doing lots of hiking.
